FilGuard Filament Detector is compatible with the VZ-Hextrudort-Low extruder and supports filament breakage detection and blockage detection. It features a customizable button for intelligent filament detection. The current version with printed parts supports VZ and VZ Plus extruders, and customers can purchase components to design their own housings to be compatible with more extruders. We also provide files for the Bowden version, which can be used with a wider range of extruders.
FilGuard is a very compact intelligent filament detection module designed to meet the increasing demands of 3D printing. This module helps customers better monitor issues with their 3D printers and offers the very useful functions of quick filament loading and unloading.

Product features: Multifunctional lightweight design, can monitor consumables.
Product function: Transmit a signal to the mainboard to suspend printing when the material is cut off or blocked, to avoid invalid operation of the 3D printer. Equipped with a shortcut button, you can set automatic heating to quickly unload the filament. When the filament is inserted, it can automatically heat and load the filament without operation. The shell is compatible with VZ extruders, and users can design it according to the model and apply it to their own 3D printer.
Changes in the LED light in front of the cut-off and blockage:
Lack of material: red flashing
Feeding: blue flashing (the faster the feeding speed, the higher the flashing frequency)
Returning: green flashing (the faster the return speed, the higher the flashing frequency)
With material but no feeding and return: orange breathing light
Notice:
In the jam detection configuration, detection_length: 2.0
2.0mm is the minimum detection length required for the intelligent consumable detection module to work properly. If you encounter a false triggering problem, try increasing the detection length by 1 mm until the problem is resolved.
